IMPORTANT UPDATE ON 2008 WUE PSP - Release of a Revised Draft 2008 WUE PSP

The Department of Water Resources has released a Revised Draft 2008 Proposal Solicitation Package (PSP) for the 2008 Water Use Efficiency Grant Program. The decision to release a Revised Draft is due to significant changes introduced to the Draft 2008 WUE PSP as a result of incorporation of the provisions of AB 1420 (Laird). AB 1420 requires certain state agencies to condition loans and grants to urban water suppliers on implementation of Demand Management Measures described in the Water Code.

The Department will hold an additional four public workshops to provide information and solicit public comments on the Revised Draft 2008 PSP. Details on workshop locations and dates and PSP changes are in the Revised Draft PSP and Press Release.

2008 Water Use Efficiency Grant Program - New Cycle

The release of the Revised Draft PSP initiates the 2008 Proposition 50 Water Use Efficiency (WUE) Grant Cycle for the Agricultural and Urban Water Use Efficiency Program. Following are files providing detailed information regarding the PSP process, changes as a result of the AB 1420, related Exhibits including AB 1420 Exhibit VII Tables, and Frequently Asked Questions.

The key function of the Financial Assistance Program is to provide financial assistance in the form of grants and loans to implement cost effective water use efficiency measures.

The Financial Assistance Program works collaboratively with other units of the Department of Water Resources, the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation and CALFED agencies to develop proposal solicitation packages for the grant and loan programs and to conduct the review and selection processes.
